What is academic operations management software?

How is Academic Operations different from an SIS or an LMS?
An SIS primarily stores student information and academic records. An LMS supports learning content, assignments and online activity.
Academic Operations coordinates how academic delivery happens during each term: when courses run, who teaches them, where classes happen, which students belong to each section, how attendance is governed, and how students progress. It manages the operational relationships those systems were never built to own.
Can the platform generate university timetables automatically?
Yes. Creatrix Campus generates timetables using institutional constraints: faculty availability, course requirements, section and classroom capacity, campuses, credits, student conflicts and room conflicts. Schedules can also be built manually, period by period, or from reusable templates.
When requests compete for the same slot, room or faculty member, institution-defined weightage and priority rules resolve the conflict, producing a defensible decision rather than first-come-first-served.
How does QR-code attendance and the freeze period work?
Faculty generate a QR code linked to a specific class session; students scan it to record attendance. Institutions can apply time limits and geographical conditions, so attendance can't be recorded without session context.
A freeze period limits when attendance may be entered or edited. After the window closes, any late entry or correction requires an approval request reviewed by the registrar, dean or an authorised administrator, giving a traceable exception process.
Can internships and official events count toward attendance?
Yes. Institutions can create approved events (internships, competitions, conferences, field visits, sports and cultural events), identify participating students, route participation for approval, and define how it affects attendance: present, on duty, excused, absent, or another institution-defined status.
How does student promotion planning work?
The institution defines promotion eligibility criteria: attendance percentage, assessment results, credit completion, academic standing, mandatory course requirements. The platform evaluates students against those conditions and supports progression to the next term, semester or academic year, including bulk processing.

Can it support semesters, trimesters and other term structures?
Yes. Institutions configure academic years, terms, durations, teaching and examination periods, and region-specific terminology. An institution can operate by semester, trimester, term, block, session, or another locally defined academic model; the calendar becomes the operational foundation for everything downstream.
