A lifecycle is not a module you switch on. It is a flow that unfolds over time, across people, under changing rules. Admissions runs from first prospect to enrollment. The student lifecycle runs from first record to alumni. Each one has a beginning, a set of governed decisions, and an end that hands to the next. What makes them one institution rather than eight systems is that every lifecycle reads from and writes to the same governed core.

What does "one governed core" mean?

It means every lifecycle reads from and writes to the same governed data model and policy engine. A record is owned once and read by every lifecycle, so a change approved in one is immediately understood by the others — with no re-keying and no reconciliation.

How is lifecycle architecture different from integrating separate systems?

Integration moves data between systems but leaves each one owning its own copy and its own rules. Lifecycle architecture puts every lifecycle on one governed core, so the connections are structural rather than bolted-on pipes — the institution runs as one, not as connected silos.

Can an institution adopt one lifecycle at a time?

Yes. The model is modular to adopt: an institution can start with a single lifecycle and expand. But every lifecycle is designed as part of one operating model, so isolated adoption never means isolated design.
